Star Report: The Jonas Brothers Are Coming to San Jose!

Get ready for the high-pitched screams: The Jonas Brothers are coming to San Jose’s HP Pavilion on Aug. 3.
“We’re really excited about just getting up there again and seeing all the fans,” says Kevin Jonas, 21, in an unfailingly enthusiastic phone interview Friday, after a day of work on “Jonas,” the group’s Disney Channel series that premieres in May. “They’re so crazy.”
Like brothers Joe, 19, and Nick, 16, Kevin has a lot to be excited about. Already this year, the band has performed a private show for the Obama girls (”definitely, definitely awesome”), guested on “Saturday Night Live” (”we had a blast”), and jammed with Stevie Wonder at the Grammys (”the craziest and most exciting thing of all time”).
The trio’s movie, “The 3-D Concert Experience,” is out in theaters (they thrilled moviegoers in San Francisco on March 1 by making a surprise appearance). And now they’re embarking on their first world tour, which begins in May in South America.
“It’s gonna be pretty awesome,” Jonas says.
He promises an all-new show with new songs from the Jonases’ upcoming fourth studio album, due in June. (Unlike some “boy bands,” these kids write their own.)
Jonas says the new material draws on influences ranging from Elvis Costello and Prince to the Zutons.
“The songwriting’s changing,” he says. “It is definitely different than any record we’ve made, and we can’t wait for people to hear it.”
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at www.livenation.com
