THE JONAS BROTHERS MILKSHAKE REVEALED! PLUS: NAME THE SHAKE!

Published by Tamar Anitai on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 12:21 pm.
A few weeks ago I Twittered about a Manhattan restaurant that created a special milkshake for the Jonas Brothers when they were in New York this past summer. Jonas fans, your Twitter reaction to the Jonas milkshake was cuckoo bananas — you wanted to know about the restaurant, where in the restaurant the Jonas Brothers SAT, the milkshake recipe, the exact measurements of the millimeters of milk needed, etc. etc.

SO, once again, I did my Jonasly duties, and I took a cab over to Olana Restaurant where I met up with pastry chef Katie Rosenhouse. Katie, who was recently on the Food Network show Chopped, is just 22 and has an amazing job — SHE MAKES DESSERTS FOR A LIVING! And not only did Katie make that now-legendary Jonas Brothers milkshake, but she helped me recreate my very own Jonas Brothers shake, which, by the way, is made with REAL. FUDGE. BROWNIES. (Sorry, dieters. Zzzz.)

Katie also told me that the Jonas Brothers loved the shakes so much that they requested to meet her in person to thank her. Ridiculously adorable, right? Of course.

So, there’s the story of the Jonas Brothers milkshake. Now, watch Katie show me how to make Olana’s yet-unnamed Jonas Brothers milkshake, and follow along at home if you’ve got a billion fudge brownies sitting around — the recipe’s after the jump!

Also, Katie is SO cool that she offered to let Buzzworthy’s Jonas Brothers fans NAME the Jonas Brothers milkshake. Leave your suggestions in the comments, and I’ll let Katie know my favorite (it’s not a fancy or formal contest or anything… just submit some fun names, mkay?), and they’ll put it on the menu at Olana! Sweet!

Get the recipe after the jump!

Olana Jonas Brothers Chocolate Milkshake
(Serves 3, obviously)

6 scoops chocolate ice cream (homemade or store-bought)
3 Tbsp dark chocolate fondue (*recipe below)
1 ½ cups milk
¼ cup brownies
½ cup whipped cream
2 Tbsp chocolate chips

Method: Combine the chocolate ice cream, fondue, milk, and brownies in a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses and top with whipped cream and chocolate chips.

Chocolate fondue
2 ounces of heavy cream
3 ounces chopped dark chocolate
1 tsp sugar
Pinch salt

Method: Bring the heavy cream and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan. Pour the hot liquid over the chopped dark chocolate and salt. Whisk to combine. Check blood sugar!
