Jonas Brothers Fear Grammy Night

Though the Grammys are still a month away, the Jonas Brothers – who are up for best new artist – have the jitters.

“I fear that day,” Kevin, 21, told Radio Disney on Tuesday. “You should have seen how nervous we were just going to the announcement ceremony.”

After a full day of filming their new Disney Channel show J.O.N.A.S., the pop-rock trio – which also includes Joe, 19, and Nick, 16 – had to hightail it to L.A.’s Nokia Theatre for the special primetime Grammy nomination concert on Dec. 3.

“We didn’t think we were going to be on time!” Nick told the radio station. “We literally ran to our seats and right when we got to our seats they [announced] Jonas Brothers!”

Just when they thought that night couldn’t get any better, after the nominations were announced, “Smokey Robinson came over to us … and said, ‘I’ll be rooting for you!’ ” recalls Kevin. His response? “No way! Really? That’s awesome!”

Adds Nick: “As an artist and a songwriter … you always dream about being nominated for a Grammy. And if we do win – wow, that would be amazing.”

Win or lose, one thing’s certain: “We will be on time for the Grammys!” says Joe.

CBS will broadcast the 51st Grammy Awards live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 8.
